Newman’s carries all the necessary soil components for any project.  For a completely balanced potting soil we have small sizes through large 2 cu. Ft. bags, usually in two or more brands, Black gold, Miracle grow, and Fertilome.  It is sometimes possible to order other types based on pallet quantities and availability’s.

For your garden or tree planting needs we have many soil amendments.

Composted cotton burr bagged specially for Newman’s. Because we know that soil is one of the most important steps, we contracted with the original composting facility which started composting cotton burr.  Don’t let anyone fool you, if it doesn’t come from us, you are not getting the best, we understand what your hard work is worth!

Mushroom Compost:

Brought in from Alamosa Co.  Made from peetmoss, manure, and sand, this product was used to grow mushrooms for your table! After one season the mushrooms deplete what they need and leave a great garden additive.

Top Soil:

A mix of compost, sand, and manure.  Used as a filler or soil additive.  Not to be planted straight into.

Peat Moss:

The Premier product used by gardeners as a soil additive.  It has the best water holding capacity of all products. Also one of the main ingredients in homemade potting soils.

Composted Manure:

The best part of this product is that it has been heat treated to remove any weed seed left in it. Furthermore it has been aged and composed to the right consistency and has no more remaining heat left in it from the composting process.  Ready to use!

Decorative Bark Mulch:

Use as a ground cover or to save water.  Small, Medium, and large size chips available.  Clean, light weight, easy to use.

Shredded Cedar Mulch:

Shredded Cedar is a natural insect repellent, use close the house. Saves water and is softer to walk on.

Composed Forest Mulch:

Ground bark is good in the garden as a top dressing. Gives a very rich black soil like appearance. Most inexpensive product stretches the budget.

Vermiculite:

Kiln dried Formica adds capillary action to any soil.  Used in homemade potting soils and compacted gardens.

Peralite: 

• Heat treated pumice acts very similar to vermiculite.  Used in heavily compacted soils.
